Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Sanctuary Renovations
Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church
Renovations | On-Call Facilities
In October of 2008 Hurricane Ike swept over Houston, severely damaging Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church’s sanctuary and completely removing the roof. HarrisonKornberg was tasked with managing the complete renovation of the sanctuary and challenged to hurry so the church could resume services and meet together as a congregation as soon as possible. Since that time, HarrisonKornberg has renovated several other buildings on the campus including the bookstore and various classroom areas. The 10-25 year-old buildings are in need of continuous maintenance and upgrades. Under an IDIQ contract, HarrisonKornberg has become an on-call facilities department for Wheeler, managing projects as small as window blinds and fixture replacements and as large as bringing the facilities up to current code.
