Rafael’s interest in architecture and design began early with exposure to residential remodeling. It has continued to evolve and strengthen with each of his professional, educational and life experiences. Through years of construction experience of various scales, Rafael has attained an attention to constructability and a fascination with concrete. Through his various architectural project roles, Rafael has developed a great interest in exterior building systems and materials. Other areas of interest include sustainability, urban design and user experience.
Rafael received both a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. He also completed a Minor in Sustainable Architecture & Planning, and received a certificate in Sustainable Urbanism.
On weekends, you can often find Rafael enjoying live music around town. He also enjoys playing board games with friends and family, and playing catch with his Australian Cattle Dog. Rafael is an avid collector, reader, organizer and re-reader of comic books.
